MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS
Membership forms are available on the Registrations page. Please return Membership forms (including volunteer form), fully completed, prior to 18th June. This gives registration volunteers 4 days (2 weekends) to check and process over 120 members before 1st July.
Memberships can be renewed online after 16th June and paid via CC (6% surcharge on fees apply if using this option).
Online memberships processed and paid for online will not be activated by club until membership forms are received by registrar. (These have to be checked against TM database also and email addresses for club emails updated). To avoid delays in activation, please ensure that all fields have been completed. Birth certificates are not required for renewal memberships.
Members paying club by cash, cheque or DD will be activated once all forms and monies are received by club, not before. If you are having difficulties, please contact Registrar in writing to make payment arrangements.
You do not need to have activated membership for 2011/2012 season to enter State Championships but you DO need to be a SWA and club member to swim at the meet, so PLEASE get your memberships in early.
Breakers Fees have increased $20 from last year:-
SWA Fees - $95 for a competitive member
Breakers Fees - 1st swimmer $120 , 10% Disc 2nd swimmer $108 , 20% Disc 3rd Swimmer $96
$50 Levy for all swimmers 1st and 2nd (payable once only)
(Many thanks to the 95% who have already paid this levy)
This rise in fees of $20 is to cover the running costs of the club. This includes the many social functions (breakfasts etc...) and payment for coaches to attend meets to support our swimmers outside of their normal working hours.
Parents can now join SWA as a Non-Competitive member for $30. You will need to fill out the membership form and tick for the non-competitive membership (birth certificates are not required). This provides you with insurance at, and travelling to and from Swim meets. It also increases the clubs membership base numbers and helps support our rapidly growing club.
LEAVING OUR SWIM CLUB?
It would be very sad if we were to not see a swimmer/s return for the next year of competition L Should your swimmer not be returning to Breakers , can you please send an email letting us know. You will be contacted by a committee member for an exit interview and warm wishes for whatever the future may bring J
SWIM MEET PAYMENTS
As of now, swim meet payments can be made directly to Breakers bank account online. It is VERY important that we are able to identify who the payment is from and WHAT the payment is for! Please include name and meet in reference. Please also send receipt to Registrar (address above).
Payments MUST be received in a timely manner. It would be horrible if we had to introduce a system where payments had to be received by meet entry closing date. Please do not take for granted the relaxed system currently used. Your registrar does not want to be in a situation where monies have to be asked for.
CLUB SWIM AND SWIM MEET ENTRIES
These MUST be submitted on correct forms either by email or placed in registrar box on pool deck. SMS messages, emailed notes and messages through registrar’s children will not be accepted as an entry. Coaches are also not entry boxes for any paperwork for Breakers Swim Club! Forms are always available on the club website. If you do not know how to email these, ask, your registrar is here to help you J
Once forms are received, they are kept and checked against to ensure mistakes do not happen. This cannot be done with SMS and emailed notes.
External meets that are not online entries, MUST be completed on SWA entry form. Please make sure to fill in both event number and name of event. Registration number and times can be filled in but are not required to submit a correct entry. All times used by registrar for entries are correct in TM Data Base. If you have queries about times, please contact registrar.
Closing dates on club calendar are final. Saying that, if you are late, please email registrar and if meet has not been sent you will be included. For club swims you will be placed in available lanes as per club Swim rules. Please do not contact other clubs or SWA directly for late entries as your first option. Always contact your registrar first and if this is the last resort for you, you will be advised.
ONLINE ENTRIES
Please Please PLEASE!!! Remember to send your copy of online entries to your Registrar. Before writing this email tonight, I spent over an hour looking for and entering swimmers in my team manager for the SWA Qual meet #1, who had not sent in their entries. Coaches plan your swimmers training around meets and events swimmers have entered. It is not my job to find this out for you, but YOUR job to inform your children’s coaches via your Registrar. Help me, so I can help you
CLUB SWIMS
Many thanks to the efforts in following the club swim rules (available on club website). Over the past few months, we have noticed a HUGE reduction is swimmers scratching events mid meet and turning up late for warm-up. It is wonderful to know that swimmers have taken on board our plan to run our meets more efficiently and I thank you all for your support, especially our Coaches J
BREAKERS PENTATHALON
Please remember to enter this meet and help out on the day in the various tasks needed. The club is collecting items for raffles so keep them coming J Entries to be sent to club Registrar by due date please.
INTER CLUB MEET 6th JUNE
Don’t forget this up-coming meet on the June long weekend. Entry form has been emailed out so pop in the poolside or email box before closing date. It’s going to be a fun day and I am sure with the extra competition, we will see state times falling all over the pool J
RELAY EVENTS
Don’t forget - ALL BREAKERS MEMBERS ARE CONSIDERED AVAILABLE FOR TEAM RELAYS UNLESS WRITTEN NOTICE GIVEN TO REGISTRAR PRIOR TO CLUB CLOSURE OF MEET OR SWA ONLINE MEETS 7 DAYS NOTICE PLEASE.
Make sure you let us know if you are unavailable for States in July or the Club relay meet on Sept 3rd. At this meet we can enter many relay teams for the events listed. This means most of our members will be named on the team J So keep the day free and the following day to recover!!!!
I personally wish all our swimmers all the best for the SC Season. I am very much looking forward to another successful Swim season, Breakers shining at the State SC Championships and then closely followed by (what I'm sure will be) a VERY exciting relay meet in September!
See you at the pool
